Superior only recruits and hires the best people to be a part of our team. All potential team members are put through an in-depth screening process, which includes written testing, a criminal background check, drug screening, and an oral interview. After close scrutiny, only the best candidates are selected. They are then required to go through two weeks of intensive team member training. New team members learn about excellent customer service, proper lifting and moving techniques, defensive and emergency driving skills, map reading and navigation, OSHA blood borne pathogens, and proper documentation skills. Rounding out the training is a field internship where new team members demonstrate their abilities to a field preceptor.

This is only the beginning of training and education for our team. All Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-B) and Paramedics must fulfill Continuing Education (CE) requirements as prescribed by the State and local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems. Written testing is done semi-annually to insure quality care is being rendered in the field. Superior is a provider in 8 EMS Systems in Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana.

In addition to mandated CE, we require our team members to participate in company focused ongoing education. We cover OSHA Blood Borne Pathogens, Customer Service, Defensive and Emergency Driving, our Company Values (TLCS), CPR, and TB testing.

We also custom design educational needs for our customers. The types of classes offered range from CPR to IV Therapy to building evacuation and fire safety. Please consult with one of our Marketing Representatives to discuss your training needs.
