Superior is proud of the caliber of our people. We employ only the best, most qualified personnel that share in our vision of caring and commitment to service. Superior provides its employees with the tools and knowledge to successfully do their job.

Prospective employees are tested on their general and medical knowledge.
Each person completes and in-depth interview, drug / alcohol test, and background screening. New employees complete an extensive training program, which includes customer service techniques, defensive and emergency driving, patient handling, documentation, and other aspects of Emergency Medicine. Each new employee is evaluated on their ability and motivation to provide excellent patient care and customer service during a field internship.

Our education is ongoing, offering a variety of Continuing Education (CE) programs in conjunction with our resource hospitals. Superior is a member of several EMS Systems: Loyola, St. Francis, Good Samaritan, Will-Grundy and Northwest Community Hospital. In addition to regular Continuing Education (CE) requirements, Superior provides CE specializing in critical care transports. One of our pilot programs with Loyola allows us to transport critically ill patients that are on Lidocaine, Bretylium, Aminophylline, Dopamine, or Heparin drips using our transport IV pumps without having hospital personnel accompany our paramedics.

In addition, we provide portable ventilators monitored by our licensed Respiratory Therapists and our Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump monitored by our licensed Perfusionits. Superior's continuous quality improvement program is based on contemporary medical care management initiatives which, have been successful in medical centers, HMOs and physician's offices. The program focuses on advanced technology in the performance of ALS and BLS care.

Our senior management team is seasoned with ambulance experience, training, and problem solving skills. Through weekly staff development groups, team building, communication techniques, advances customer service skills, and benchmarking are practiced and discussed.

Superior's external training programs are custom tailored for your needs. Some of the classes offered are as follows:

* OSHA Requirement * Disaster Planning
