Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support
“The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the one who applies the first dressing.” Nicholas Senn, Surgeon. This responsibility has been handed to you the EMS provider. This course is designed on the objectives developed and taught by the early pioneers of prehospital care. Starting as early as the late 1700’s when Napoleon’s chief military physician developed the horse-drawn “flying ambulance” and introduced the premise that the individuals working on these ambulances should be trained in medical care to provide on scene and enroute care up to the modern day of helicopter transports.
