    Cruising at approximately 130 MPH, and having a flight range of over 200 miles, Air Med1 provides excellent patient care with rapid transport to centers of excellence throughout Illinois and Indiana. The aircraft is equipped with the most state of the art flight safety, communications and medical technology to transport critically ill and injured patients. In Michigan, aviation services are provided by Pentastar Aviation.

What to Expect (Michigan)

Each flight is coordinated by a Henry Ford Hospital tansfer nurse, staff physician, and the patient's referring physician.  The Air Med 1 flight crew includes a critical care nurse, critical care paramedic, and pilot.

Flight crews are certified in critical care emergency medical transport and emergency vehicle operations.  Crews also undergo mandatory training in pharmacology and managing intravenous medication delivery.
